Andrew Poots Partner B.Bus, CPA, Registered Tax Agent, MBA
Andrew is a certified practicing accountant who holds a Business Degree with an Accounting Major and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Andrew has been a registered tax agent since 1993 and is an accredited financial advisor with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (AFSL number 307169). Andrew has 13 years’ experience in tax, investment and retirement planning and five years’ experience as a company accountant. He has been self employed in financial advisory services since 1999 and lives in Mackay with his wife Maree and two daughters. Andrew’s role in the firm is Director and General Manager, AFSL holder and compliance manager. He is accountable for business planning.
Peter Jones-Trifelly Partner MFAA
Peter is an accredited mortgage broker through AFG and is a member of the Mortgage Industry Association of Australia and the National Tax and Accountants Association. He is an experienced tax consultant who specialises in individuals, rental properties and investments. Peter holds a Diploma in Financial Services. Born and bred locally, Peter lives in Mackay with his wife Elizabeth and their two children. Peter is a Director of the firm and is the principal tax and lending adviser.
John Carroll Authorised Representative B.IT
John is a second generation Mackay local who has worked in a variety of occupations, from a television camera man and editor to a hotel manager. In 1992, John began working in the family business, John Carroll Retravision, where he stayed for 12 years. Keen to pursue a career in business, John worked his way through university before completing his three-year apprenticeship in a local financial planning firm. John, who joined the Power2 team in November 2008, is a qualified authorised representative, and is currently studying a Masters Degree in Financial Planning. Most importantly, John has plenty of life experience and lives in Mackay with his wife Veronica and their four children. John’s role in the firm is as cash flow and budgeting mentor and long term financial advisor.
Hamish Rogers Taxation Consultant
Hamish holds a Business Degree with a Professional Accountancy Major, and is currently studying to become a Certified Practicing Accountant. Hamish moved to the region in June 2009 from Brisbane, where he worked at the Australian Taxation Office for a year in the Key Processing department. Not only a whiz with the figures he is an Australian representative in his chosen sport Tenpin Bowling. Hamish lives in Mackay with his partner Melissa.
Claire Waring Marketing Co-ordinator BA (Hons)
Claire has 12 years experience in sales and marketing, having worked in various service industry roles in the UK, New Zealand and now here in Australia in Mackay since May 2009. Claire holds a BA Honours degree in International Marketing and Business and is responsible for the organisation and deployment of all marketing initiatives for Power2. This includes above the line advertising such as TV, radio and print media; also below the line advertising incorporating targeted direct mail campaigns to the Power2 existing client base. Claire lives in Mackay with her husband Kerry.
Rina Langfield Administration Manager
Rina holds a Certificate III in Financial Services, with 12 years administration experience in taxation, financial services, stockbroking, superannuation and investing, 10 of these years alongside Andrew Poots. Rina provides administrative support to the advisors, manages payroll, the task management system, bookkeeping, client and diary management. She also ensures the smooth running of the office, for both clients and staff on a day to day basis. Rina commutes from Sarina where she lives with her husband and three teenage children.
