Derek Fitzgerald

Based in our Mackay office, Derek Fitzgerald has lived in North Queensland for 10 years, having moved from the Darling Downs of Queensland. He has extensive experience in the Financial Planning Industry and has been providing holistic financial advice to a broad range of clients since 2003. Derek’s main areas of expertise are wealth accumulators, pre and post-retirement clients, and self-managed fund advice. Derek received high praise and recognition for being selected as one of the top 50 financial advisers in Australia by Australian Financial Review Smart Investor magazine, after taking part in the annual Master Class exam. This is great recognition of Derek’s technical knowledge and ability to apply it. Derek has completed a Bachelor of Psychology from James Cook University, a Diploma in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Southern Queensland and is a certified financial planner after completing studies at Deakin University. Derek is also an accredited Life Risk Specialist through the Financial Planning Association.
Marius De Lange

Marius qualified as an accountant in South Africa and worked for 6 years in a family owned accounting business before moving permanently to NZ in February 1999. He continued his career in the accounting world and gained valuable NZ experience with an Auckland CA firm before moving to Inland Revenue in July 2000 to work as a tax investigator. He then worked as a contract accountant in 2001 while at the same time establishing his own accounting business. In August 2007 he sold a successful accounting business and started with ING Life as a Locum Broker in the risk management area. In January 2009 an opportunity to work as a Practice Consultant for BankLink came up in Brisbane providing consultancy and business development solutions to Accounting practices. 18 months later Marius has joined the team at Power2 to work with Business clients to assist them with maximising their business’ profitability.
Lina Norman

Lina holds a Bachelor of Business – Accounting Degree as well as a Certificate IV – Train the Trainer and has in excess of 20 years accounting and taxation experience. Prior to joining Power2 Lina and her husband Brenden owned and managed a small business, a Motel and Restaurant, in the Burdekin for 5 years. Lina also worked for Neato Training Services as a trainer. At Power2, Lina is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for all entities as well as preparing business activity statements. Lina is a born and bred Mackay local and resides locally with her husband and three children.
Daniel Hay

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) Degree. Daniel also holds a Certificate IV in Financial Services. He is a member of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia and the National Tax and Accountants Association. He is an experienced taxation and business accountant with over 7 years experience. Daniel lives in Mackay with his wife Kayte. Daniel manages the accounting and taxation advisory function for investors and business clients.
David Jenvey

David holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting/Information Systems) and has 4 years of taxation experience. He also has taxation knowledge in relation to Primary production business of small to medium enterprises. He is a born and bred Mackay local. David is responsible for completing taxation returns and financial statements for individuals and small businesses.
Hamish Rogers

Hamish holds a Business Degree with a Professional Accountancy Major, and is currently studying to become a Certified Practicing Accountant. Hamish moved to the region in June 2009 from Brisbane, where he worked at the Australian Taxation Office for a year in the Key Processing department. Not only a whiz with the figures he is an Australian representative in his chosen sport Tenpin Bowling. Hamish lives in Mackay with his partner Melissa. Hamish is one of the team of taxation consultants within the practice.
Claire Waring

Claire has 13 years experience in sales and marketing, having worked in various service industry roles in the UK, New Zealand and now here in Australia in Mackay since May 2009. Claire holds a BA Honours degree in International Marketing and Business and is responsible for the organisation and deployment of all marketing initiatives for Power2. This includes above the line advertising such as TV, radio and print media; also below the line advertising incorporating targeted direct mail campaigns to the Power2 existing client base. Claire lives in Mackay with her husband Kerry.
Rina Langfield
Administration Manager
Rina holds a Certificate III in Financial Services, with 14 years administration experience in taxation, financial services, stockbroking, superannuation and investing, 12 of these years alongside Andrew Poots. Rina provides administrative support to the advisors, manages payroll, the task management system, bookkeeping, client and diary management. She also ensures the smooth running of the office, for both clients and staff on a day to day basis. Rina commutes from Sarina where she lives with her husband and her teenage children.
Ashleigh Mole
Planner Assistant
Ashleigh has worked in the financial planning industry for three years, with all of that time with Derek Fitzgerald, our authorised representative. Ashleigh is currently completing a Certificate 4 in Business Administration at Mackay TAFE. Ashleigh enjoys the challenging fast paced environment of finance as well as meeting and greeting new and existing clients. When you visit our office to discuss Financial Planning matters Ashleigh will be one of the first people you meet.
Robyn Sweeney
Business Services Officer
Robyn has 23 years experience within the finance industry, 16 of which were with the Commonwealth Bank. After a ‘break’ from finance working as a Chiropractic Assistant, Robyn wanted to return to the finance industry and an opportunity with Power2 emerged. Having joined Power 2 in July 2011 Robyn is responsible for managing the scheduling of accounting and tax through the office; from BAS to financial statements, to time-costing and invoicing. Robyn moved to the Mackay area in 1991 from Darwin and now resides in Sarina with her husband and two teenage sons
